An article in the Wilmington Star News on Monday 12/7 triggered awareness that Brunswick County is in the process of updating their Ten Year Master Plan (TYMP) through a process they call “Blueprint Brunswick 2040.” We are posting this note in case you are interested in participating in the public survey that is open through January 1.
• The content of the TYMP will be the template for how the growth and future services such as parks, programs for seniors and zoning of the county is managed.
• For example, the TYMP could be a guiding factor in what type of business might be allowed in the DAK property adjacent to The Bluffs.
• The TYMP is also used by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the NC Department of Environmental Quality in making decisions about cleanup requirements of contaminated properties.
