Exciting springtime events and recreational activities are about to bloom in the Wilmington area with warmer weather just around the corner. There is something for everyone to do this spring; with activities ranging from outdoor activities, concerts and festivals, beer and wine tastings, and park and garden openings.
Get Outdoors
At The Bluffs, our residents like to get involved in activities that allow them to stay fit while interacting with others. There are plenty of ways to get out and enjoy your secluded community. River and lake access makes boating, fishing, and kayaking easy for our residence. Parks and our playground make for a fun-filled, family afternoon. Trails and our tennis courts are a great way to stay fit while enjoying the company of others in the outdoors.
Our surrounding area provides no shortage of these type of activities as well. Surfing, paddle boarding, sailing, and kite surfing are just a few of the fun pastimes of our beach. For more information, click HERE.
Once Wrightsville Beach is open for the season in early March, a number of athletic competitions are scheduled to take place on our gorgeous coast. Whether you prefer to bike, run, or swim, there is something for everyone. Some of the most notable events include the Wrightsville Beach Biathlon, the US Open Fat Bike Beach Championship, and the Stoked To Go Out Pier-to-Pier Swim where participants swim between the Johnnie Mercer’s Pier and the Crystal Pier, a distance of roughly two miles.
Festivals and Concerts
One of Wilmington’s biggest events is the Azalea Festival. This festival takes place from Wednesday, April 11th to Sunday, April 15th. Live music, art shows, and contests take place through this time frame.
The large concerts that take place at the Azalea Festival are one of the event’s biggest draws. In the past, big names such as Snoop Dogg, Duran Duran, Cole Swindell, Jason Derulo, and The Temptations have held concerts that have been hugely successful. This year is no exception to this previous trend of talent, with concerts featuring Billy Currington on Thursday and Ludacris on Saturday. For more information about the event, click HERE.
Beer & Wine Tastings
For residents who prefer to relax and grab a drink, there are several events for beer and wine tasting that happen throughout the community. Some of these events include the Cape Fear Beer & Wine Festival, Cape Fear Craft & Cuisine, and Cape Fear Craft Beer Week. For more information on these and similar events, click HERE.
