1. Leland in Lights is back!

Experience the magic this holiday season at Founders Park (located at 113 Town Hall Drive). Stroll through dazzling light displays, discover whimsical themes, and snap picture-perfect moments around every corner. The Grand Illumination of Leland in Lights on Dec. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m.

2. Holiday Lights and Drone Shows (Downtown Wilmington)

A new Wilmington tradition returns: four spectacular Saturday drone shows light up the night sky over the Cape Fear River. On Dec. 6, 13, 20, and 27 at 7:30 p.m., hundreds of illuminated drones create dazzling holiday imagery visible from the Wilmington Riverwalk and right across from Battleship NORTH CAROLINA.

Before the show:

  • Visit Santa at Water & Market Streets (Dec. 6, 13 & 20, 5–8 p.m.)
  • Arrive early — parking fills fast during the holidays

While you’re downtown, stroll the Riverwalk’s glowing trees, peek at decorated historic storefronts, and even hop on a horse-drawn carriage ride through the Historic District.

3. Downtown Tree Lightings

Wilmington does holiday tree lighting right — with festive performances, Santa appearances, and plenty of sparkle.

4. Holiday Lights Cruises on the Cape Fear River

Experience Wilmington’s waterfront from a whole new angle aboard Wilmington Water Tours’ Holiday Lights Cruise. Running from late November through December, these cruises feature:
