The Bluffs is home to some remarkable neighbors whose passions reach far beyond our gates. Among them are several residents who help bring the magic of live theatre to life at Brunswick Little Theatre in Southport—an all-volunteer organization that has been enriching our region for more than 40 years.
Did you know that The Bluffs is home to a group of talented and dedicated individuals who are making a difference on and off the stage at the Brunswick Little Theatre (BLT) in Southport?

Brunswick Little Theatre
Our community has a strong presence in this beloved local institution, which has been entertaining and educating Brunswick County for over 40 years. The theatre is a 501c3, all volunteer non-profit organization.
Steven Rauschkolb, a past president and current member of the BLT Board of Directors says, “I’ve witnessed firsthand the passion and commitment that fuels The Brunswick Little Theatre. It takes many, many people to put on 6 or more major productions each year. I feel grateful to be one of The Bluffs residents who are involved in the theatre’s operations, productions, and community outreach.”

Dave Bracken
Dave Bracken, a fellow Bluffs neighbor, serves as BLT’s treasurer and is also a dedicated member of the board. Dave’s financial expertise and steady hand helps ensure the theatre’s continued growth and stability, making it possible for BLT to continue bringing quality performances to audiences of all ages.
Robin Shatzkin is another familiar face from The Bluffs also sits on the BLT board. Robin’s energy and creativity are evident in her work behind the scenes, serving on many different committees and lending her expertise to the theatre’s website. Her commitment to fostering a vibrant arts community is a true asset to both BLT and our neighborhood.
The Bluffs’ connection to BLT extends to the stage as well. Elizabeth Michaels, is an award-winning professional actor and former BLT board member. She recently won the Best Actor award for her portrayal of Miss Daisy, in Driving Miss Daisy at Thalian Hall. She is frequently featured in leading roles at BLT and with many of Wilmington’s other theatre companies. Elizabeth is also BLTs prop master. She has also appeared on many local television commercials and is a narrator for audio books.
Denyse McDonnell has also brought her talents to the BLT stage, sharing memorable performances that showcase the depth of talent found right here in The Bluffs.
Whether serving behind the scenes, managing the organization, or captivating audiences on stage, these Bluffs residents embody the spirit of volunteerism and artistic passion. Their involvement at Brunswick Little Theatre not only enhances the cultural landscape of Southport and Brunswick County but also brings pride to our own community.
